Bio

Martin Buczko finished his studies at the Hungarian National Dance Academy. While studying, Martin performed at the Hungarian National Opera House, as well as in the Musical Theater of Budapest, in the productions of Birgit Cullberg, Kenneth MacMillan and Andrew Lloyd Weber’s musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat”, amongst many. Martin danced 10 years with Staatsballett Berlin as a solo-dancer under the direction of Vladimir Malakhov. He worked with choreographers such as Maurice Bejart, William Forsythe, Nacho Duato, Angelin Prejlocaj, just to mention a few. He created the successful dance-sequel “Shut up and Dance!” in 2005, performing through the Berlin Opera houses and the famous Berghain Electronic Music Club. As a dancer, he performed all main and leading roles with Staatsballett Berlin, Ballet de Santiago and Ballett Rossa. He is a regular guest artist in international ballet galas, and danced on the stages of Teatro Colon – Buenos Aires, Bunka Kaikan – Tokyo, Teatro Nacional de Cuba – Havanna, Teatro Nacional Santo Domingo – Dominican Republic, Mexico, Spain, Japan, Hungary, Poland, Cyprus, USA, the Philipines and Malaysia. He gives master classes on a regular basis at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as a resident guest teacher at Friedrichstadt-Palast Berlin, and as an invited teacher internationally.
