Contemporary Dance and Improvisation Workshop with Adonis Vais

Level: Beginners/ Beginners with experience

The two day workshop will focus on the 3 basic elements of my approach to contemporary dance and movement: Offering more time on basic tools of improvisation. Going deeper into technical exercises. Working with a longer choreography that integrates improvisational tasks and set movement material. It will also emphasize: Finding a balance between listening and controlling my body. Diving into my personal way of moving. Dancing a choreography in a way I can perform it at its fullest. Express yourself through movement. Create borders and be able to trespass them.

Flying Low and Improvisation Workshop with Narendra Patil

Open Level

„After more than 10 years as a close follower of David Zambrano, I will share a series of phrases and exercises which experiment on the Flying Low principles. The workshop focus is mainly on the dancer’s relationship with the floor. The class utilizes simple movement patterns that involve breathing, speed and the release of energy throughout the body in order to activate the relationship between the center and the joints, moving in and out of the ground more efficiently by maintaining a centered state.
Dancers will be given improvisational tasks to move in solos, duets, trios and groups. It also includes partnering work, movement research vocabulary through improvisation, speed, co-ordinations, musicality, strength, rhythm, emotions, movement precision and efficiency.“

Bio
Narendra Patil is a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer and performer from India and a movement specialist in contemporary, Flying Low and improvisation.

SAT 11./SUN 12. August 2018 15:00–18:00
Exploring Movement Dynamics with Ichi Go
Open Level

Theatrical /Physical Improvisation Workshop Based on Contemporary Dance

„In Japan, the definition between yourself and others is vacant. The boundaries of oneself is always expanding. Sympathy at all times, connecting, and finding one’s own role and position creates harmony. We will explore movement from the core of one’s stomach, which we call “Tandien”. Breathing deeply from it, enables awareness of one’s inner self. And more importantly for dance, it can be useful in synchronizing with others instead of relying on one’s eye or keeping count. This is the most fundamental technique that I was taught in Japan. The training is carried out as a dialogue. We work together in tandem.“

Bio:
Ichi Go started dancing in California when she was just a child. Once she moved to Japan, she learned Modern dance from Mieko Fuji and her pupils. Mieko is one of the greatest artist in Tokyo, and Ichi learned a lot at her side. In order to develop her own contemporary and experimental dance, she decided to move to Berlin in 2013. She worked for various projects with Sven Holm, Anna Anderegg, Rumiko Yoshioka, Katarzyna Pastuszak, Daria Fain, BMW (Mark Film) and her own, ELEKTRO KAGURA.
