Training for Dancers
Briana was born in Southern California, USA. She began studying classical ballet at Noerr Dance
Academy under former directorship of New York City Ballet and Los Angeles City Ballet principal dancer, Evette DeMarco. Briana moved on to train at the Joffrey Ballet School, the Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet, and Alonzo King Lines Ballet. She danced as a soloist for Inland Dance Theater and Riverside Ballet. Later, she went on to dance for Santa Cruz Ballet and Yabas (Afro-Brazlian company) in the San Francisco Bay Area where she also freelanced with various contemporary companies, including Robert Moses’ Kin. Having recently relocated to Berlin from San Francisco, Briana continues to work as a freelance dancer and teaches at Marameo, Dock11 and with youth in schools.
This class offers an integrated and embodied approach to ballet. It explores the somatics and anatomical mechanisms of technique, using classical and neoclassical movement to generate body awareness, physical strength, and a centered foundation. The class provides a thorough warm-up in service of artistry, precision, and versatility for all dancers.
